Lithium triborate (LiB3O5or LBO) is a new type of nonlinear crystal with excellent optical performance, widely used high power ultraviolet frequency multiplier, with wide light transmittance band, high damage threshold, large acceptance angle, good chemical and mechanical properties.
Main Feature
Wide light transmittance band range (160-2600nm)
Good optical uniformity (δ n 10-6/ cm), less internal envelope
High frequency conversion efficiency (3 times that of KDP crystal)
High damage domain value (1053nm laser with 1.3 nm up to 10GW / cm2)
Wide reception angle and small discrete angle
Class I, class II non-critical phase matching (NCPM)
Spectral noncritical phase matching (NCPM) is close to 1300nm
Typical Application
1. Doubling frequency:
Nd: YAG laser for medical and industrial use
High-power Nd: YAG and Nd: YLF laser for scientific and military applications
Nd:YVO4, Nd: YAG and Nd: YLF laser pumping
Ruby, Ti: Sappire and Cr: LiSAF laser
2. Triplex frequency:
Nd: YAG and Nd: YLF laser
Optical Parametric amplifier (OPA) and optical Parametric oscillator (OPO)
High power 1340nm Nd: double, triple frequency of YAP laser
